Post 1-History

♡Cotton Candy history♡
Have you ever eaten cotton candy or wondered about its history? Well I'm going to tell you about it today.

☺☺☺ Cotton candy was first made by 2 men from Nashville , John c. Warton and William Morrison. They invented the first Cotton candy machine on 1897. Cotton candy was originally made for men but girls ate it to. They first introduced it at the St.Louis world fair on 1904. When they introduced it they sold about 68,655 servings of cotton candy for 25 cents each. They got 17,163.75 dollars which is allot back then. Cotton candy was first white but later on they put food coloring and flavoring to it so more people would enjoy it and buy it at the fair or at home. Cotton candy has lots of names such as in Germany Sugar wool, in France paps beard, and in Great Britain candy floss. Although cotton candy was named so many names in America the name cotton candy became stuck around 1920. You can find cotton candy almost always at amusements parks and at circuses.

☺☺☺ The cotton candy machine was made up of a heating device connected to a cylinder that would run through the large center of the spinning bow. When you would go to add the sugar to the quarter sized hole in the base of the machine the sugar would melt because of the heating device then it would be pushed up tiny holes through the cylinder and ounce it hit the cold air it turned into tiny threads which made cotton candy. ☺☺☺ Although cotton candy was so popular they tried to make the cotton candy into shapes. But scene the holes were not even and they could not control the melted sugar where to go that did not work it came out unevenly every time.

☺☺☺ In 1949 the company Gold Medal of Cincinnati designed a machine the used springs which made it go evenly which made the candy come out constantly. This invention made it more reliable and kept it from malfunctioning. Gold Medals still runs today and sells most of the cotton candy and cotton candy machines in the United States.

☺☺☺ So as you can see there is a lot of history behind cotton candy like its names who made it and lots of other things thanks for reading my post hope you enjoyed reading in and hope you learned something from cotton candy.

Post 3- how to make AWESOME cotton candy

☆How to make Cotton candy with out a machine.☆

Are you wonder how to make cotton candy well I'm here to tell you how today its quite easy you just need to follow the steps. theses are some things that you will need.
5 cups sugar (granulated white) ♡
1 1/3 cup light corn syrup
1 cup, 2 tbsp water
flavorings
food coloring
non-stick vegetable oil spray
saucepan (approx 2 qt)
2 long handled spoons (wooden preferred)
wire whisk (one that you won't miss)
wire cutters
candy thermometer
tempered glass bowl
newspaper or garbage bags

You are probely ur think that the stuff above is crazy for making cotton candy but I will tell you why you need it. First you're going to need to use the wire cutters to cut off the rounded bottom of the whisk. you don't necessarily need a whisk just the metal tines that we'll create by cutting off the bottom of the whisk will really be needed right now . Next, use the garbage bags or newspaper to cover the floor where you'll be working or else it will be VERY messy at the end because you certainly don't want melted sugar on your any floor.

Get a large object (such as a large heavy book or something heavy ) and put the two spoons on the counter so that the handles stick out into the air with the other end underneath the book odd right. Spray the ends with the non-stick vegetable oil spray. That takes care of your work area, now onto mixing things up a little bit.

Mix the sugar, corn syrup and water in the saucepan. Cook on about medium heat until the mixture reaches 320 degrees Fahrenheit. Use your candy thermometer to make sure its that the temperature is right. Be sure that it doesn't go over 320 degrees or it will begin to turn brown and burn[it will not taste that good. Trust me].

When the mixture has reached that temperature [320], remove the pan from the heat and pour it into your tampered glass bowl. Use pot holders if needed to, it will be VERY hot. It is necessary that you remove it from the pan as soon as possible, otherwise it will continue heating (and turn brown and taste really bad).

If you want to add color or flavor, this is the time to do so. Mix it in immediately!!!!

Using the end of your ''modified'' whisk, dip the end with tines into the mixture and let some excess drip back into the bowl before waving it over the spoon handles. The mixture should land on the handles. Continue doing this until the mixture is gone. You have about 10 minutes before the mixture becomes too hard to wave properly. If it does happen to become hard, just pop it into a microwave for 3-5 minutes, or until it's liquefied again.

Once all the mixture is all used, wait for it to harden and then carefully remove and eat or save for later!

Alternatively, you could use an upside down bowl (that's been sprayed with non-stick spray) and make strands with your whisk. This would give you results closer to the original spun sugar.

Post 5-Summary

As you have scene from my blog I have done lots of research for this blog it has been fabulous at times a little challenging at others and just plain boring at times .

I think it was a little challenging because you had to do everything perfect. you also had to edit and revise and figure out if the information you got was right and you had to set up your blog the way you wanted which is hard because you barley know how to design your blog yet. You also have to invite everyone and put there email word perfect or else you could send it to someone you don't even know.

I think it was at some times plain boring because if you were ahead of everyone else you would have to comment or do gadgets or just sit and look up new information. You also had to type, type, type, and type and sometimes it was just plain boring.

I think it was fabulous because every time you were on the computer you learned something new about your topic and you got to design your blog the way you wanted to not the way your parents wanted you to do it. You got to check out other peoples blogs and learn out new stuff about there topic and other things that you could put on you your blog for designs or pictures.

All in all it was very fun doing this blog even though sometimes it was boring or a little challenging but I got through it and it was definitely worth it I loved learning about cotton candy and hope you liked learning about it to.
